Unemployed, alcoholic man murdered by in-laws
Nashik, Apr 5 (UNI) A 50-year-old man was allegedly electrocuted to death by his father-in-law and brother-in-law for ill-treating his wife in Sinnar taluka of this district.
The deceased, Dattatray Wamen Thorat, was married to Karbhari Savliram Dhikle's daughter Sunanda. Dattatray, who was unemployed, used to drink and beat his wife, police said.
Sunanda, her father and her brother Sharad Karbhari Dhinkle had often tried to reform Dattatray but in vain.
Fed up, the father-son duo took Dattatray forcibly with them in an autorickshaw on the night of April 2 and allegedly assaulted and later electrocuted him to death.
The two later brought the dead body home and claimed that they had found the body in a forest near the village. However, Dattatray's brother Sanjay suspected foul play and lodged a complaint with the police. Following this, the father-son duo were arrested.
