Agartala, April 05 : The Amarpur Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate in South Tripura today sent two accused senior police officers to 14 days judicial custody for snatching a treasure chest from a tribal family in the district last week.

Commandant of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) Ninth Battalion Manik Lal Majumdar and DSP (Enforcement) Pinaki Samanta were sent to three days police custody on April 2 for further investigation into their alleged involvement in the robbery of the treasure chest from Nagrai, a tribal hamlet in Amarpur subdivision of south Tripura on March 29.
