Former JD(S) Minister formly joined BJP
Bangalore, Apr 5 (UNI) The Janata Dal(S) in Karnataka received yet another jolt as senior leader and former Minister Muniyappa Muddappa today joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Arun Jaitley, party's incharge of Elections in Karnataka.
Party spokesman S Sureshkumar said that party has received a big boost in Raichur district Mr Muddappa, one of the prominent leaders in the region and also a staunch supporter of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, joining the BJP.
Mr Sureshkumar also informed that along with Muniyappa, Congress leaders R V Harish and B Mahadev also inducted into the party fold by Mr Arun Jaitley.
Earlier Mr Jaitley inaugurated party's poll preparedness workshop and urged partymen to work hard to defeat both Congress and JD(S) in the coming elections. He also urged party leaders to put up an united fight to get the people mandate which is very much crucial to extend its base in the southern region.
Senior party leaders including former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, state party Chief D V Sadananda Gowda, National General Secretary H N Ananthkumar were among those who participated in the Workshop.
