New Delhi, Apr 5 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today reiterated her commitment to making Delhi a world-class modern city.

''A clean city could only make Delhi a global city,'' Ms Dikshit said, adding the efforts in the direction of civic infrastructure enhancement, in sectors like power, water, health and education, would be overshadowed if the city was not clean Speaking at a function here, she said making a world-class city had too many dimensions for any government to deal with it alone.

She stressed on vital public participation in solving the issues like pollution caused by vehicular traffic, plastic bags, effluent discharge in rivers and disposal of garbage and called upon the citizens to proactively participate in the Government's Clean City Campaign.

The Chief Minister said scientific disposal and management of garbage was one of the most important component of the Government's vision of making Delhi a world class city.

Progress in the field of successful garbage management and disposal was only possible if proper segregation took place at the source where garbage were generated, she emphasised.
