2 coaches for Thar Express to ferry Pak national
Jodhpur, Apr 5 (UNI) The Railway authorities denied tickets to several Indians passengers and provided two additional coaches for Khokhrapar (Pakistan) bound Thar Express to accommodate Pakistani nationals, whose visas were due to expire before the next run of the train next week.
Long queues of both Indians and Pakistani nationals were seen at the ticket counters since morning yesterday to procure tickets for the Thar Express.
Seeing the rush at the Railway Station yesterday, the authorities decided for preferential issuance of tickets to those Pakistan citizens whose visas were due to expire before the next run of the train next week.
However, the number of such passengers and those who were already having advance reservation, exceeded the availability of seats in regular seven coaches of the train.
The Railway authorities had sought permission for two additional coaches and the train finally left with a total of 644 passengers, including 186 Indians and one US citizen.
A large number of Indian passengers who had come here from different places, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, were disappointed and forced to buy tickets for the next train, the coming week.
