UT celebrates 98th anniversary of Saint Philosopher's arrival
Puducherry, Apr 4 (UNI) Puducherry-based World Peace Trust today celebrated the 98th anniversary of the arrival of the Saint Philosopher Sri Aurobindo to the Union Territory.
It was on April four, 1910, that Sri Aurobindo had arrived here by a steamer 'Duplex' and was received by the revolutionary Tamil poet Subramaniya Bharathi and Srinivasachari.
A meditation session with the recorded voice of the Mother was organised at the pandal, which was raised near the Gandhi statue on the beach, where he landed first.
A team from West Bengal sang devotional songs and Vande Mataram to mark the occasion. Managing Trustee of the World Peace Trust Dibyendu Goswami and its President K Lakshminarayanan, MLA, addressed the gathering on the occasion.
