PMK leader calls for peace in Hogenakkal issue
Vellore, Tamil Nadu, Apr 4 (UNI) Calling for peace in both Tamil Nadu and Karnataka over the issue concerning the Hogenakkal drinking water project, PMK founder-leader S Ramadoss today demanded the boycott of BJP Karnataka President B S Yeddyurappa from national politics as he held him responsible for the controversy.
Addressing newspersons on the sidelines of a party agitation against the attack on Tamils here, he alleged that Mr Yeddyurappa's ''petty politics'' had raked up the controversy. ''This is nothing but terrorism.'' Dr Ramadoss appealed to Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the issue.
Holding the parties which have ruled the State responsible for the denial of rights of Tamils, he said he had proof to substantiate his charge on the Cauvery issue. The AIADMK had put the Hogenakkal project in cold storage for eight years and instead taken up the Veeranam drinking water project.
