Petty quarrel proves costly for iron scrap dealer

Kancheepuram, Apr 4 (UNI) A petty quarrel between an iron scrap dealer and three youth led to the murder of the former, at Pondhur in this district today.

Police said Arul (36), hailing from Kanniyakumari district, and his brother-in-law Arulappan were running the scrap shop. When the duo refused to buy an iron gate from Senthil (23), Balaji (26) and Kanniappan (24), a verbal duel ensued and the youth attacked Arul with an iron rod, last night.

Arul was admitted to the Sriperumbudur Government Hospital, where he breathed his last today.

The three youth were later arrested.
