Oz Government will soon send observers to monitor Nepal polls
Kathmandu, Apr 4 : Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith on Friday said that his government would soon sent observers to monitor the April 10 Constituent Assembly elections in Nepal.
"The election will be a key step in the peace process and political transformation," said Smith.
He further said that successful elections and the formation of a Constituent Assembly will "strengthen Nepal's economic prospects after the long civil strife."
Smith told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) that the observers would be selected from the Australian Parliament and the Australian Electoral Commission.
