Opposition to end santuary status to Ralamandal
Indore, Apr 4 (UNI) In view of widespread protest against the Madhya Pradesh government to end the sanctuary status of this district's Ralamandal and sending a proposal to Centre to turn it into conserved forest area, senior forest department officials would hold a discussion with people's representatives tomorrow.
Besides environmentalists, environment and nature lover organisation, voluntary and social service organisation and several political parties have been staging strong protests against the proposal claiming it as an attempt to benefit land mafia and hotel industry.
However Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured that no step would be taken without consensus.
Department's Principal Secretary Prashant Mehta and Principal Chief Conservator of Forest P B Gangopadhyay would hold a discussion with MPs, MLAs, public bodies, media and other officers tomorrow.
