Kohima, Apr 4 (UNI) The Post Graduate Students' Union (PGSU) of Nagaland University, Kohima campus, has staged a peaceful demonstration in front of the University in protest against the suspension of classes by the Nagaland University Students' Union (NUTA).

Hundreds of poster-wielding students from all the six departments of NU gathered at the main gate of University yesterday and demanded immediate resumption of classes, which was disrupted since March 19 last.

They said that classes were suspended only in Kohima campus, while the other two campuses were functioning smoothly, adding that the examinations earlier scheduled for March 31 last, had to be post-poned as the course had not been completed.

They also submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor of the University demanding immediate resumption of the classes for the future and the moral rights of the students. They also appealed to the Vice-Chancellor to bring an amicable solution before 7th April next, failing which they would take their own course of action.
