Islamabad, Apr 4 : Indian Kashmiri leader Mehbooba Mufti, who completed her maiden week-long visit to Pakistan in the aftermath of new government formation, has said that she regretted the fact that she couldn't meet slain former Pakistan premier Benazir Bhutto.
Mehbooba said that she had never met Benazir in her life, and always had a desire to meet at least once in her lifetime.
"I regret that Benazir Bhutto was not there. I would have loved to meet her and I could have never thought of visiting Pakistan and not being able to meet Benazir Bhutto," The News quoted her as saying.
She added: "A country that you had looked forward to seeing and meeting its people all these years does not seem to be in a very comfortable position and I regret that Benazir Bhutto is not there anymore."
"I had never visualised this situation. Whenever I thought of going to Pakistan I always had this in mind that I am going to meet Benazir," said the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) president.
