Lokayukta sleuths net four employees
Bangalore, Apr 4 (UNI) The Lokayukta sleuths today arrested four persons, including a police inspector, on the charges of accepting bribes for showing official favours.
According to an official release here, Prabhakar Sugoor, Assistant Engineer of GESCOM in Raichur, was arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 40,000 from one Akhtar Hussain to cover up a meter tampering case.
In another incident, two officials, District Manager Jagannatha Shetty and clerk Ms Revathi of the Backward Classes and Minorities Development Corporation of Udupi, were caught redhanded when they accepted a bribe of Rs 3,000 from Lessly Rebello for releasing subsidy amount of Rs 6,000 in connection with digging of a well in Seenapura village under Gangakalyan Yojana scheme.
In another bribe case, the sleuths arrested a Reserve Police Inspector in Mangalore while he accepted a bribe of Rs 5,000 from Sanjeeva, a police constable of Kolar, for considering him to the Bugler's post.
