Kapurthala, Apr 4 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice Vijender Jain today laid the foundation stone of new judicial complex at village Nurpur Dona this evening even as the city observed complete bandh against the project.
Talking to mediapersons at science city, Chief Justice said the decision to set up the new judicial complex at village Nurpur dona was collectively taken by the High court and the government and the new complex would come up at the cost of rupees 29 crore within two years.
When his attention was drawn towards the Kapurthala Bandh against the building of new judicial complex at Nurpur Dona, the Chief Justice expressed confidence that the move would ultimately prove beneficial to the litigants, lawyers and people.
Meanwhile, all the commercial establishments remained closed as the town observed a complete Bandh today in protest against the decision of the government to shift the judicial complex 7 km away from the town.
