Japanese funds for Mizoram hydel projects
Aizawl, Apr 4 (UNI) A Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) team arrived here today to inquire into the viability of funding and maintaining various hydel projects in Mizoram.
JBIC officials said the team, led by Engineer Consultant Shingo Tagaki, studied the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) with state Power and Electricity Secretary K Lalnghinglova and other officials.
The team had also found some hydel projects in Mizoram worthwhile for funding.
However, the final decision would be taken by the JBIC Tokyo headquarters after carefully examining the DPRs.
The projects under cosideration included hydel projects of Tuivai, Tuirini, Tuivawl, Bairabi Dam and Kolodyne Phase II, among others.
