Chandigarh, Apr 4: Hundreds of Haryana Janhit Congress (BL) workers today held protests at various places in Haryana against inflation and price rise on a call given by the party president Kuldip Bishnoi today.
In Ambala City and nearby areas they demonstrated against the Hooda government and burnt effigy of the Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The agitating workers led by local leaders marched to the office of the Deputy Commissioner where they handed over a memorandum. Both the leaders strongly criticised the central government for high price hike, which had adversely affected the common people. They also alleged that corruption was rampant in the state and there was no law and order.
A report from Hisar said that HJC activists had minor clash with the police when they tried to burn the Chief Minister's effigy near Near IG's office. The police managed to snatch the effigy from them.
In Hansi, the workers succeeded in burning the effigy after a meeting at Panchayati Dharmshala and a protest march through the major marketplaces against the price hike.
