Four girl students face watery grave
Berhampur, Apr 4 (UNI) Four girl students all in the age group of eight were drowned while bathing in the Kharakhari nallah, a tributary of Rushikulya River in Umari Dharma Saranpur village under Chatrapur police station in Ganjam district today.
Police said all students reading in class three in Umari Dharma Saranpur Anadamaya Prathamika Vidyalaya went to the Kharakhari nallah for bathing soon after the morning school.
When one girl slipped into the nallah, others also drowned after their bid to save her failed.
The students were identified as Sonali Behera, Titali Behera, Kalpana Behera and Priyanka Behera.
Police have recovered all the bodies and sent for postmortem to Chatrapur.
