Bangalore, Apr 4 (UNI) Lokayukta sleuths today arrested four persons including a police inspector on charges accepting bribes for showing official favours.
According to a Lokayukta press release, an Assistant Engineer Prabhakar Sugoor of GESCOM in Raichur was arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 40,000 from one Akhtar Hussain to cover up a meter tampering case at an ice cream factory.
In another trap, the District Manager Jagannatha Shetty and a clerk Ms Revathi of Backward Classes and Minorities Development Corporation of Udupi were caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 from Lessly Rebello for releasing subsidy amount of Rs 6000 in connection with digging of well in Seenapura village under Gangakalyan Yojana.
In another trap, Lokayukta police trapped a Reserve Police Inspector in Mangalore while taking a bribe of Rs 5000 from Sanjeeva, a police constable of Kolar for considering him to the Bugler's post.
