Five petrol pumps, 236 traders booked in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 4 (UNI) Five petrol pumps were booked for adulteration in diesel and petrol while 236 erring traders, including butchers were issued challans, official sources said.
The Enforcement Squads of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Legal Metrology, booked five petrol pump owners for adulteration in diesel and petrol in the valley and as many as Rs 3 lakh were recovered as fine from erring shopkeepers during the last three months in Srinagar district, they said.
About 215 erring traders were issued challans.
''The squad conducted checking of various markets of the city yesterday during which 21 butchers were booked for non-display of rate list and overcharging,'' they added.
Meanwhile, to check misuse in rationing of grains and oil, the Deputy Director Supplies had been directed to ensure distribution of kerosene oil against ration tickets.
They were asked to personally verify the photographs, family strength and the category of the ration cards of the households to check misuse of distribution of ration meant for Below Poverty Line and poor of the poorest, they added.
