A team 25 freed scavengers to attend UNO function in New York
Patna, Apr 04 (UNI) A team of 25 women scavengers, freed from their age-old dirty profession, has been invited by the United Nations Organisation(UNO) to participate in a cultural programme in New York on July two.
Founder of the Sulabh International Bindeshwar Pathak told reporters here today that under the mission sanitation drive of Millenium Development Goal of UNO, a team of 25 women scavengers, released from their age-old profession, from Alwar district of Rajasthan, will participate in the cultural programme in New York.
'' All these scavengers have already been trained to adopt the respectable profession for their livelihood, '' he said.
They would share their experience with scavengers in Patna tomorrow, who would undergo similar training for alterantive means of livelihood.
The training programme includeD sewing, preparation of noodles, crafting and beautician course, he added.
