Patna, Apr 3 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today ordered for initiating legal action against the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) for using sub-standard materials in the construction of drainage system at Kankarbagh here.
During a surprise inspection of the site, Mr Kumar found the bricks, stonechips and other materials being used for construction of the drains as sub-standard and ordered a thorough inquiry into the matter.
He ordered the Superintendent of Police of Patna to lodge criminal case against the construction agency.
He also called the Chief Engineer of the NBCC and sought explanation from him for using the sub-standard materials in the construction of drains.
Apparently dissatisfied with the construction works, Mr Kumar said the whole structure would collapse on its own and it would have to be reconstructed in a short span of time.
'' No agency engaged in construction work will be spared if it is found compromising with the quality of works, '' he warned.
