Dalit state ministers demand action against Babu
Hyderabad, Apr 3 (UNI) Dalit Ministers in Andhra Pradesh today demanded stern action against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu for 'insulting' Deputy Speaker Kuthuhalamma, a Dalit, in the House yesterday.
Addressing a joint press conference here, Municipal Administration Minister Koneru Ranga Rao, Major Industries Minister J Geetha Reddy, Small Scale Industries Minister G Surya Rao, Marketing and Warehousing Minister M Mareppa, School Education Minister D Rajanarsimha said the Dalits in the entire state were agitating over the remarks made by Mr Naidu against the Deputy Speaker.
Mr Ranga Rao demanded immediate action against Mr Naidu, who had insulted the women community of the Dalits by insulting the deputy Speaker.
He said the Dalits and other community leaders would launch an agitation in the state against the indecent behaviour of Mr Naidu and other TDP leaders.
Mr Mareppa said the Dalit community would take out protest marches and dharnas on Dr B R Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14 to protest against the indecent attitute of Mr Naidu towards their community woman.
Ms Geetha Reddy said it was the responsibility of all the members in the House to give due respect to the Deputy Speaker or panel Speaker, who conducts the business.
