Hyderabad, Apr 3 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh cabinet today hailed Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for successfully rebutting the oppositon charges and defeating the no-confidence motion.
Mr Naidu had made a mockery by misusing the provision to get cheap publicity, resulting in wastage of crores of rupees of public money, Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah told reporters here after a cabinet meeting.
''We thought Mr Naidu will project serious issues concerning the people. But he has used the forum only to thwart growing dissidence within the TDP,'' he charged, adding that Mr Naidu could have used party fora, including the Politbureau to sort out differences within his party.
Defending the state Government's decision to sell state property in a transparent manner to fund developmental activities without imposing new taxes on people, he said getting approval from the state Assembly, the state Government had mobilised Rs 8700 crore through sale of government lands. On the other hand, the previous TDP Government had sold government lands in a ''clandestine'' manner, he charged.
