Chandigarh, Apr 3 (UNI) Top seed and Indian Davis Cupper Rohan Bopanna earned the distinction of sending his serve at the fastest speed from among those who are competing in the ongoing 10,000 dollars India F5 Futures ITF Men's Circuit being played at the CLTA stadium here today.
According to Chandigarh Lawn Tennis association (CLTA) chairman, the speed gun being used by the staff to monitor the serves of all leading players, placed Rohan Bopanna, who is ranked 328, on top of the list.
Bopanna's maximum serve speed has been recorded at 125 miles per hour.
According to data recorded on the speed gun, unseeded Russian Danila Arsenov, who is ranked 782, served the second fastest serve at 111 miles per hour.
Another Indian Davis Cupper Harsh Mankad, who along with Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan and Korean Hyun-Woo Nam, took their appointed place in semi-finals, was the third fastest server in the ongoing tournament.
The speed gun measured his speed at 109 miles per hour.
Czech Republic's Roman Jebavy's maximum speed registered at 101 mph.
The toppers in serve are: 1 Rohan Bopanna 125 mph; 2 Danila Arsenov (Russia) 111 mph; 3 Harsh Mankad 109 mph; 4 Roman Jebavy (Cze) 101 mph; 5 Vivek Shokeen 97 mph; 6 Yuki Bhambri 95 mph; 7 Divij Sharan 93 mph and 8 Hyun-Woo Nam (Korea) 67 mph.
