SPML wins NTPC's largest power project
Kolkata, Apr 02 (UNI) Leading infrastructure company Subhash Projects and Marketing Limited (SPML) has secured a mandate worth Rs 329.48 crore from the National Thermal Power Corporation(NTPC) for the proposed Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project in Assam.
An SPML release issued here today stated that with a view to boosting the power scenario of Assam and other Northeastern states, the NTPC would install three units of 250 MW each at Bongaigaon.
The estimated value of the power project is the largest from the NTPC to any company in the infrastructure sector, the release added.
It is also the largest order bagged by the SPML with a cumulative project value of Rs 710 crore, including the value of cement and structural steel to be issued by the corporation.
SPML vice-chairman Subhash Sethi said, ''This prestigious order from the NTPC reinforces our core competencies and our intent of growing at a rapid pace in this segment in the coming years.'' The project involves execution of main plant, civil work and offsite civil work package, including dismantling of the existing structure at the abandoned power plant of Assam State Electricity Board, clearing and developing the area and constructing pile foundation.
The scope of the work will also include construction of all the heavy structure, foundation units like turbine/generator, boilers, chimney, mill and bunkers, clear water pump house and a number of buildings.
