Ration dealers to stage sit-in protests in Kerala
Kozhikode, Apr 2: The All Kerala Retail Ration Dealer's Association (AKRRDA) will stage dharnas in Kerala in protest against Centre's decision to curtail ration quota to the state on April 7.
Talking to newspersons here, AKRRDA Working President M V Basheer said the association was forced to go on an agitation as the move to cut 20 per cent ration commodities would affect the Public Distribution System. It would also escalate prices of essential commodities badly hit by the huge crop losses due to unseasonal rains, he said.
He urged the stat MPs to prevail upon the Centre not to go ahead with the decision.
