Bengal, Saurashtra enter round of last four

Visakhapatnam, Apr 2 (UNI) With Lakshmi Ratan Shukla's massive score of 124, Bengal defeated Delhi by 48 runs, to go into the semi finals of All India one-day inter-zone Vijay Hazare knockout trophy today.

Saurashtra by defeating Karnataka by seven wickets also moves into the group of four.

Winning the toss, Delhi sent Bengal in to bat. Due to overnight rain match was curtailed to 47 overs.

Bengal made 295 for five in 47 overs, with Lakshmi Ratan Shukla's 124, including 16 fours and two sixes. D Das was unbeaten on 40, with three fours and one six. S Lahari made 40 while A Muzumdar scored 36.

Shukla and Muzumdar made a significant partnership of 117 runs for the fourth wicket.

For Delhi, N Singh grabbed three wickets for 55 runs.

In reply, Delhi was all out for 247 in 43.4 overs. Virat Kohli scored 56 including a boundary and three sixes and S Dhawan scored 47 with nine boundaries. P Chawla scored 35.

For Bengal, S S Paul picked three wickets for 42 runs. A Chowdhry and I Saxena bagged two wickets each.

In another match, Saurastra defeated Karnataka by seven wickets.

Winning the toss Saurastra elected to field.

Karnataka for the loss of nine wickets made 234 in 50 overs, with India ODI player Robin Uthappa's 50, with three fours. M Pandey scored 45, including three boundaries while C Raghu scored 41, with one boundary.

Uthappa and Pandey made a partnership of 74 runs for second wicket.

For Saurastra, B Jadeja was successful with three wickets for 68 runs while R V Dhruv bagged two for 31.

In reply, Saurastra made 235 for three in 46.2 overs. With J N Sha's century in 80 balls, including ten fours and five sixes and Pakle's 62 with eight fours Saurashtra was very close to the target.

S D Jogiyna made 38 with four fours and C Apujara was not out on 22.

For third wicket, J N Sha and C A Pujara made a partnership of 100 runs.
