Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) Ruling Congress Party Member in the Assembly, Mr Vara Prasada Rao, today claimed the Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had no right to move the no-confidence motion against the Congress Government when it was taking care of the welfare of all sections of people and the overall development of the State.

Participating in the second day of the discussion on the no-confidence motion on the government moved by the TDP in the Assembly, Mr Rao said Opposition Leader and Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was resorting to double standards.

He alleged Mr Naidu spoke one thing while in power and another when in Opposition. People would not believe his statements.

Mr Rao asked the TDP the purpose for moving the motion and wanted to know if it was for taking up several welfare schemes including distribution of pensions and free power supply for farmers.

When the member referred to the corruption during the TDP Regime, the Opposition protested the remarks stating the member was resorting to personal allegations.

The Deputy Speaker intervened and said the member was not making any personal allegations but only referring to some instances during the TDP Regime.

At this point of time, Mr Chandrababu Naidu intervened and said the Deputy Speaker was not allowing the Opposition members to make submissions and treating Opposition and ruling party members equally.

Deputy Speaker said she was giving equal chances for both of them to participate in the debate and defend their versions.
