Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) Senior Telugu Desam Party Legislator and Former Assembly Speaker Y Ramakrishnudu today asked why Congressmen were not winding up the party heeding advice of Mahatma Gandhi.
Intervening Mr Manika Varaprasada Rao (Cong) during the discussion on the no confidence motion, Mr Ramakrishnudu contended the Congress, during its long rule, had ruined the country.
Reacting to description of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as a true follower of Mahatma Gandhi and speaking only the truth, Mr Ramakrishnudu asked why the ruling partymen were not adhering to the Father of the Nation's advice to disband the party after getting freedom for the country.
Mr Ramakrishnudu, also a Former Finance Minister, claimed the present Congress Government, too, was taking many loans from the World Bank after criticising the previous TDP Government for the same reason.
The Congress Government was spending the loan secured from the World Bank for ''unproductive expenses,'' he claimed.
