Tata Motors record sales in last fiscal, 582,401 Nos

Kolkata, Apr 01 (UNI) Tata Motors reported a record sale of 582401 vehicles including exports for 2007-08 fiscal year, highest ever and a growth of 1 per cent over 578862 vehicles in 2006-07.

The March, 2008 also witnessed a record sales including exports as 66495 vehicles were sold, the company's highest ever monthly sales, an increase of 6 per cent over 62779 vehicles sold in March 2007.

The company's sales of commercial vehicle last month in the domestic market were 35993, a jump to 17 per cent over 30720 vehicles sold in March last year. M&HCB sales stood at 20639 Nos, an increase of 17 per cent over March last year. LCV sales were at 15354 Nos, an increase of 18 per cent over March last year.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 313371 Nos, an increase of 5 per cent over last year, also the highest ever. M&HCV cumulative sales were 166037 Nos, while LCV sales for the period were 147334 Nos.

The passenger vehcile business reported total monthly sales of 24737 Nos in domestic market last month, a 4 per cent decline over 25760 vehicles sold in march last year. The Indica sold 13042 Nos, a decline of 14.7 per cent over march 2007. the Indigo family registered slaes of 5135, an increase of 18 per cent over March 2007 and its highest everr montly sales. Utility vehicles sale at 6560 Nos registered a growth of 7.4 per cent.
