Washington, Apr 01 : American actor Scott Bakula has landed the second lead role in Steven Soderbergh's "The Informant".
Bakula will be acting opposite Matt Damon in the espionage thriller for Warner Independent, reports Variety.
The project, which is based on a true story, was adapted by Scott Burns from a book by Kurt Eichenwald.
Bakula will be playing the role of Brian Shepard, an FBI agent who exposes an international price-fixing scheme with the help of biochemist Mark Whitacre (Damon).
Co-producing with WIP are Participant Media and Groundswell, with Jennifer Fox and Gregory Jacobs producing it.
Bakula had recently appeared in "Boston Legal", reuniting with his "Murphy Brown" co-star Candice Bergen.
He is currently starring in "Dancing in the Dark" at San Diego's Old Globe Theater.
