Rajiv Gandhi Intl airport handles 1.70 lakh passengers in 9 days
Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, India's first greenfield project taken up under Public-Private Partnership, has successfully completed nine days' commercial operations by handling around 1.70 lakh passengers, consisting of 27,000 international and 1.43 lakh domestic passengers.
A release here today said a total of 2,208 Air Traffic Movements --1,104 landings and 1,104 take offs-- were handled.
Aviation Turbo Fuel (ATF) off take by the airlines reached 1,034 KL, double the off take for same number of flights in the old airport.
On the cargo front, 140 tonnes of international cargo and 40 tonnes of domestic cargo were handled.
The airport would commence collection of parking charges for four wheelers, two wheelers and other vehicles from April 3. First 15 minutes would be free for both four wheeler and two wheeler, the release said.
