Preparations on to host UPA's Bharat Nirman in Nicobar
Port Blair, Apr 01 (UNI) Preparations are in full swing for the three-day Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign of the UPA government, which will be organnised at Car Nicobar on April 7.
Port Blair Press Information Bureau officials said Andaman and Nicobar Lt Governor Bhopinder Singh will inaugurate the PIC as Chief Guest.
The Andaman PWD has constructed 28 stalls and two food stalls for the three-day event being organised by the Centre in partnership with the Andaman and Nicobar administration and the Tribal Council of Car Nicobar.
About 40 departments and other agencies, including Andaman and Nicobar Command and the Coast Guard, will be participating in the PIC.
Besides publicising the UPA government's rural development schemes by informing and educating the masses, the participants will also showcase their achievements with regard to the implementation of Flagship Programmes of the UPA government, Andaman PIB incharge O N Jaiswal told UNI today.
Functionaries of the Tribal Councils of Campbell Bay, Nancowrie, Katchal and other southern islands will also participate in the PIC.
