Party ticket on popularity and relation with people, BJP
Jaipur, Apr 1(UNI) Issue of prospects for allotment of tickets to sitting BJP MLAs in Assembly elections in Rajasthan re-emerged at the ruling party's executive meeting here today with former party president M Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje cautioning MLAs over the issue.
Delivering the concluding speech at the two-day meet, Mr Naidu outlined the criteria for general consideration for allotment of party ticket while Ms Raje had warned against some sitting MLAs' bid of exploring new constituencies for themselves following change of category or nature of their present constituencies in delimitation.
Mr Naidu said performance, popularity, relation with the people and conduct and relation with party organisation would be kept in mind while considering any one for allotment of tickets.
He said the party was not having any negative view against the sitting MLAs and the issue would be decided on appropriate point of time.
However, he added that a survey was being conducted to assess the popularity and prospects of sitting MLAs and performance of members of council of ministers was also being reviewed.
