P K Misra becomes top taxman
New Delhi, Apr 01 (UNI) Mr Prasanna Kumar Misra, a 1971 batch officer of Indian Revenue Service, today took over as Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes.
Before taking up the top tax job today, he had been member (Investigation) in the CBDT since January 2007.
Earlier, he had served in the Income Tax department as Chief Commissioner, Delhi&Udaipur; Commissioner, Mumbai; Director (Investigation), Hyderabad; Deputy Commissioner / Director, Bhubaneswar; and Appellate Assistant Commissioner in Andhra Pradesh, an official statement said.
Meanwhile, Mr S S Khan, a 1972 IRS officer, has also joined the Board as a member, the statement added.
