MGIHU's first convocation to be held tomorrow
Nagpur, Apr 1 (UNI) The first ever convocation of Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University (MGIHU), headquartered at Wardha in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, will be held tomorrow.
MGIHU Chancellor Prof Namwar Singh will preside over the function, while Bihar Governor R S Gavai will deliver the convocation address, according to a press release from the University.
Abhimanyu Anant, noted author from Mauritius, will be the guest of honour, the release stated.
Mr Gavai will also inaugurate the University's Buddhist Literature Study Centre on the occasion and lay the foundation stone for the University's main entrance gate.
Degrees would also be awarded to 240 students from various faculties, including language, literature, culture and translation.
MGIHU is a central university established by an act of Parliament in 1997 to promote the use of Hindi.
