Mumbai, Apr 1: Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), leading manufacturer of premium cars, recorded its highest ever monthly sale of 8,895 units in March 2008 as against 8,487 units during the same month in previous year translating to a growth of 4.8 per cent. The cumulative sales of the Company during the Financial Year April 2007 to Mar 2008 were 62,802 units as against 61,325 units sold in April'06 to March 07, recording an increase of 2.4 per cent, the Company release stated.
The Company sold 20,436 units in calendar year January 2007 to March 2008 as against 18,021 units in the corresponding period last year, recording a 13.4 per cent increase. Sales and Distribution Network Honda Siel Cars India expanded its sales and distribution network across the country during the fiscal year 2007-08 to 80 facilities in 51 cities. The network included 55 facilities in 41 cities during 2006-07.
Honda Siel Cars' state-of-the-art manufacturing unit was set up in 1997 at Greater Noida, UP and has inaugurated its new expanded capacity of 1,00,000 units per annum in February 2008. The Company launched the 10th Anniversary edition of Honda City to commemorate the 10 years of Honda in India.
HSCI recently launched the 2.0L 2WD CR-V with Honda's latest iVTEC engine. The 2.0L CR-V has better fuel efficiency without compromising on performance, the release added.
