Hooda suspends two police officials, announced CBI probe
Pehowa, Kurukshetra, Apr 1 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today suspended the Pehwa SHO and another police official and said that the Pehowa family suicide case would be handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation.
The Chief Minister, who was here to convey condolence to the relatives of the deceased Mamchand family, agreed to their demand for the suspension of ''erring'' police officials and the CBI probe into the case.
The Chief Minister ordered suspension of Jai Singh Maan, SHO, and Mohinder Singh, ASI, as they had failed to take prompt action in the initial investigations when the debt-ridden family was reported missing on March 16.
The two bodies of the members of Mamchand's family were recovered from SYL-Bhakra canal in Karnal and seven from a car in the same canal near Jyotisar in Kurukshetra yesterday.
Mamchand had left a suicide note blaming 21 people of driving him to take the drastic step.
