Srinagar Apr 1 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have busted a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) module while two blasts took place in the Kashmir valley overnight.
A police spokesman said one Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police busted a militant module and arrested militants identified as Peer Mohd Ashraf of Al Badr outfit, Gowhar Hussain Gani and Saleem Yousuf Gani, alias Fasil of HM outfit.
He said on further investigation, three more overground workers of the outfit were arrested who were closely associated with network.
They were identified as Ajaz Ahmad Pall, Hayatullah Bhat and Muhammad Amin Bhat. One AK 47, three magazines and 59 AK rounds were recovered from their possession.
He said the CRPF and police, during a routine checking, detected an explosive device near industrial complex at Rajpora road in Pulwama district.
The area was immediately sealed, he said, adding that when the explosive device was being defused, it went off. However, there was no report of loss of life or damage to property.
He said militants fired at the residence of Ajaz Ahmad Dar, at Tarzoo Sopore, Baramulla, damaging his vehicle. No one was injured.
An old explosive shell went off in the garbage in the Baber Lane at Kupwara market. However, no harm was caused.
