Guna, MP, Apr 1 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje today said good people should enter politics in order to reform the country.
''Good people are shying away from politics. Earlier, freedom fighters or those with a feeling of sacrifice joined politics but now things have changed,'' Mr Kokje, who was here to take part in a programme at Ruthiai in this district, told UNI.
Asserting that educated and intellectual class must come forward in politics for the country's progress, he said people wanted to become doctors, engineers or attain some other post at present.
On declining standards of politics and society, he said presently wealthy people received respect in society and decline was obvious under such circumstances. However, the manner in which wealth had been earned must be kept in mind before providing respect to anyone.
Replying to another question, Mr Kokje said there would be no problem if a Governor discharged his responsibility within the purview of the Constitution utilising his experience properly. This would be in the welfare of people.
