New Delhi, Apr 1 (UNI) BJP leader Vijay Goel and 20 party councillors courted arrest today while staging a protest march against price rise and ''anti-poor'' policies of the Centre and Delhi Government.
Mr Goel and the councillors were taken to the Chandini Chowk police station in the walled city from where the march had begun.
The demonstrators were moving towards Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's residence at 1, Moti Lal Nehru Marg, when they were stopped by police.
After his release, Mr Goel said the ''anti-inflation measures'' taken by the Centre were not enough to control the spiralling prices.
''The steps announced by the Cabinet last night are just an eyewash and they will do nothing to ease the burden on the common man. Only multinational companies will benefit from the measures,'' he added.
