Tirupati: Goddess Padmavathi taken in Golden Chariot
Tirupati, Apr 1: For the first time in Padmavathi temple at Tiruchanur near here on Monday, Goddess Padmavathi was taken out in a procession on Golden Chariot upto 'Asthana Mandapam'. Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam(TTD) sources said the priests performed 'Golden Chariot Pratistha'.
TTD Chairman B Karunakara Reddy, TTD Executive Officer K V Ramanachary offered prayers and thousands of devotees had darshan of Goddess Padmavathi on Golden Chariot. About 22 kgs of gold and 1022 kgs of copper were used for the 20-ft Chariot at an estimated cost of Rs two crore, the sources added.
