Patna, Apr 1 (UNI) The State Legislative Council today passed the Bihar Public Works Contract Dispute Adjudication Tribunal, clearing the decks for speedy disposal of the contract litigations.
While tabling the bill, State Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav informed the House that the tribunal would be constituted under the chairmanship of a retired High Court judge while the Chief Engineer would be among the other members of it.
''The aggrieved party, if not satisfied with the judgement of the tribunal may approach the High Court for justice,'' he said adding the earlier provision stipulated for approaching the district courts in the event of unsatisfactory order of the tribunal.
''After the constitution of the tribunal, the pace of redressal of contract disputes would acclerate and construction works of roads, bridges and culverts would also get a new fillip,'' he noted.
The House also passed the Bihar State Fair Authority bill-2008 and Bihar State Micro and Small Enterprises Rehabilitation bill-2008.
