Shimla, Apr 1 (UNI) The BJP today constituted a 58-member Shimla district committee and provided for 33 per cent reservation for women in the positions of the party.
The district committee consists of three vice presidents, Ravinder Chauhan, Ramesh Chuchar and Balbir Chauhan, general secretary Bhim Sen Thakur, secretaries Ms Seema Mehta, Sunita Thakur and Savitri Chandel, party's district president Ganesh Dutt said in a release here.
He said Ajai Sood is the treasurer of the district party and Nandan Sharma would be office secretary.
Apart from 19 others, who would be party members, 30 would be special invitee members to the district body, Mr Dutt added.
He said Naresh Sharma would be the district president of Yuva Morcha, Ms Neelam Saraek would be the district Mahila Morcha president and Brij lal Scheduled Caste Morcha president.
The body has been constituted with discussions with senior state and central party leaders and the BJP has become the first party to provide 33 per cent reservation to women in the organisation, he added.
