Tiruchirapalli, Apr 1 (UNI) National career Air India is planning to operate direct flight services to Kuala Lumpur and Abu Dhabi from here shortly, according to Air India's Station Manager R Natarajan.
Speaking at the first anniversary of Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express here last night, he said efforts would be made to commence the proposed new services soon.
He said since Chennai Airport had reached a statutory point, the airport here would get prominence in the air map of the country.
Air India's airport manager K R Narayanan, speaking on the occasion said, presently, Air India was operating 12 services a week, 9 flights to Singapore and 3 services to Dubai. Efforts were on to increase the frequency to Dubai by six services a week.
He said the occupancy of both Singapore and the Dubai sectors was on an average 75 per cent.
