TCS signs up deal with ArvinMeritor

Mumbai, Mar 31: Country's leading IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today announced signing a multi-million dollar contract with ArvinMeritor to be the global engineering partner for product development and support services.

The five-year agreement will also see TCS support the globalisation and localisation efforts of ArvinMeritor's engineering capabilities in a broad range of integrated systems, modules and components to the automobile sector. TCS would set up a global engineering centre in Pune to provide a broad range of product engineering services to cater to the global needs of ArvinMeritor with a specific focus on the Asian market, TCS said in a release here.

''ArvinMeritor will be focusing on the Asia Pacific region where we are experiencing tremendous growth,'' ArvinMeritor Light Vehicle Systems Engineering and Technical Planning Vice President Tom Watson said in the release.

''While our current engineering workforce serves us well in Western Europe and North America, our growth objectives require expansion of our engineering footprint. Automotive capability, domain knowledge, proven track record, global presence, robust collaboration processes and commitment to our success were important parameters in the selection of a suitable partner and TCS was the clear choice,'' he added.
