SPO and 3 children among five killed in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 31 (UNI) Three children died in landslide, while a Special Police Officer (SPO) was among two people killed in other incidents in the Kashmir valley, official sources said today.

They said a Border Security Force (BSF) water tanker hit and critically wounded SPO Abdul Gani Dar at Humhama on airport Road.

The injured was shifted to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.

They said three children were buried alive under a huge landslide triggered by rains at village Lasthang Bema in Khalsi block.

Before the children could be rescued, they died, they added.

The bodies of two 9-year-old children Tsering Angdo and Punchuk Dadol were recovered, while massive operation was going on to recover the body of 11-year-old Stanzan Namgiyal.

They said body of 40-year-old Mehmood Taidwa was fished out from power Kanal at Kangan.

A two-storey cowshed was gutted in a fire incident at Trahpoo in south Kashmir.
