Naidu challenges Govt to prosecute him on his property
Hyderabad, Mar 31 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly N Chandrababu Naidu tonight dared the Congress Government to prosecute him if he had committed any wrong by acquiring a house-site in the Jubilee Hills area from a ''third party'' after acquiring one from another society at a concessional rate.
He made the challenge while intervening during Government Chief N Kirankumar Reddy's speech during the debate on the no confidence motion.
Claiming that ''I did not grab any land like the Chief Minister'', he said ''I have purchased the land in the housing society in the Jubillee hills from a third party''.
Mr Kirankumar Reddy raised questions over Mr Naidu first getting a house site from the State Government at a concessional rate through the Venkateswara Housing Society in 1978 and then through another Housing Society.
However, Legislative Minister K Rosaiah turned down the offer saying that the Government was not for proceeding in the matter as it was more concerned about taking up welfare activities.
