Jaipur, Mar 31 (UNI) BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate LK Advani today counselled sitting MLAs to introspect over their ''winnability'' prospects and volunteer themselves to opt out of contest if the chances are doubtful, He hinted at adopting the Gujarat pattern for allotment of the party tickets for Assembly elections in Rajasthan.
Addressing the meeting of the party state executive here today Mr Advani also praised the party state leadership for strengthening internal unity within the party in recent months since appointment of Mr Om Prakash Mathur as state president.
Mr Advani praised the change in scenario in the party state unit during past few months and said earlier people who used to meet him in New Delhi complaint about groupism and infighting within the party in Rajasthan.
''But now I am getting good feed back and people are saying that now things are in order, all are working unitedly'', he observed.
However, he cautioned partymen against anti incumbency factor and said that anti incumbency factor did not prevail against the party or the government but it in fact did prevailed against local MP or MLA and therefore, MPs and MLAs should take note and guard against it.
'' Therefore, all of MLAs and MPs should introspect and change to the aspirations and expectations of the people, improve rapport and image or you are bound to face the consequences,'' Mr Advani said.
'' Even then if you feel your chances to win the elections are poor then opt yourself out of the contest to give a room for better option to party '' Mr Advani added.
He also urged the party leadership to nuture well with the party's natural constituencies of tribals, ex-service men and women and counselled the leaders for infusion of youths and new faces in these constituencies.
