Mumbai, Mar 31: The Oberoi Group has rebranded its luxury hotel chain of Hilton Hotels as 'Trident Hotel'.
The Hilton Tower at Nariman Point in the metropolis and others in different cities of the country in the name of 'Trident Hilton', would be rechristened as--'Trident Hotel'. The group is also planning to expand it presence in the country by launching four new luxury hotels in Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh, the group chairman P R S Oberoi told mediapersons here today. Mr Oberoi said that Rattan Keswani has been appointed as the brand president of Trident Hotels, who will be responsible for overseeing the operations as well as the expansion opportunities.
The new five-star hotel to be constructed in Bandra Kurla Complex here would be opened in the second half of this calender year, and will be fully owned, controlled and managed by the group. While, the others in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh would be only controlled and managed by the group, Mr Keswani said.
However, the group declined to reveal the actual amount of investment for the planned expansion. ''It all depends upon the demand and response from the customers and the cities, where the hotels will be located,'' Mr Keswani said.
Earlier, Mr Oberoi said the investment for expansion would be in the proportion of 50:50 from debt and equity.
